In 1994 Vancouver hockey fans rioted the streets after losing game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final to the New York Rangers.
If the Canucks do not turn things around quickly in their Western Conference Quarterfinal, Vancouver will not be a happy place to be next week.
This evening at Rogers Arena, the Canucks were completely outplayed for the second consecutive game and lost 5-0 to the Chicago Blackhawks. Chicago has now outscored Vancouver 12-2 in the last two games.
Chicago still trails the series 3-2, but momentum has clearly shifted in their favour.
Thursday night Blackhawk defenceman Duncan Keith had the best game of his career. He had a career best four points, two goals and two assists, was a +2 and eight shots. Marian Hossa, who had only one assist in the playoffs, had his best game of the entire season, scoring two goals and an assist and a +2. Patrick Sharp is also red hot after suffering a knee injury late in the regular season. He has three goals and two assists in his last three games.
The series now shifts to Chicago for Game Six Sunday night at the United Center.
