Canada stuns USA in Olympic soccer qualifying

In a colossal upset Saturday night in Nashville, Team Canada stunned the United States 2-0 in the 2012 Olympic Games qualifier for men’s soccer.

The Canadians that were able to find the back of the net were Toronto FC defender Doneil Henry of Brampton, Ontario and Lucas Cavallini of Mississauga, Ontario who plays for Club Nacional in Uruguay. Calgary raised Michal Misiewicz continues to be brilliant in the Canadian net. He has now played two full games of shutout soccer.

With the win, Canada improves to 1-0-1 and sits in second place in Group A Standings heading into their monumental game against Cuba on Monday night in the Music City. A victory will probably declare Canada will finish first in Pool A.

In other action, El Salvador defeated Cuba 4-0 and now sits in first place in the pool on goal differential. In Group B action, Mexico defeated Trinidad and Tobago 7-1 and Honduras defeated Panama 3-1.
