The Germans are a perfect 2-0 in Group B action at Euro 2012.

Wednesday in Kharkiv, Ukraine, Mario Gomez of Bayern Munich scored twice in a 2-1 win over the Netherlands.

Gomez’s goals came in the 24th and  38th minutes. The Germans won despite being outshot 13-12 to a Dutch team that is 0-2 and is on the brink of not qualifying for the quarterfinals after advancing all the way to the finals of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

Another interesting note is that Netherlands soccer has announced that Bert van Marwijk will be back as the Dutch head coach regardless of what happens at Euro 2012. I’ve heard that comment many times before and the coach doesn’t return.

In other action, Portugal defeated Denmark 3-2 in one of the most entertaining games of the tournament to date. The Portugese went up 2-0 before Nicklas Bendtner scored consecutive goals to tie the game at two. Portugal then won the game on a goal by Porto’s Silvestre Varela. Portugal and Denmark are now each at 1-1.
