According to the Edmonton Sun, former Edmonton Oiler great Craig Simpson has married Canadian Olympic Gold medallist Jamie Sale.
The two tied the knot in Santa Rosa, California today.
This is the second marriage for the two. Sale married her figure skating partner David Pelletier in 2005 before divorcing in 2010. Simpson meanwhile divorced his wife Christine (not to be confused with his sister Christine, the famous hockey broadcaster) in 2010, a year after Sale and Simpson teamed up to win CBC’s Battle of the Blades.
Simpson scored 56 goals in the 1987-88 season and helped the Edmonton Oilers win their fourth Stanley Cup in franchise history. The performance he displayed on the ice that year with Glenn Anderson and Mark Messier that year was simply magical.
Sale meanwhile displayed her magic at the 2002 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City by winning a Gold medal in pairs figure skating. Don’t be surprised if Sale and Simpson continue to live in the Edmonton region.
