Kings win Stanley Cup–Which King are you the most happy for?

The Los Angeles Kings have won their first Stanley Cup in franchise history.

Dustin Brown scored a goal and two assists as the Kings defeated the New Jersey Devils 6-1 to win the Stanley Cup Finals 4-2.

Now it is your turn. Please comment below what Los Angeles you are most happy for by winning the Stanley Cup.

Is it Darryl Sutter, who controversially was fired by the Calgary Flames after a solid run as Head Coach and General Manager?

Was it Dustin Penner, who signed a contract that many questioned in Edmonton, and flourished on the Kings second line with Mike Richards and Jeff Carter?

Was it Mike Richards, Simon Gagne  and Drew Doughty who have now won an Olympic Gold medal and Stanley Cup?

Was it Matt Greene and Jarret Stoll who both went to the Stanley Cup Finals with Edmonton in 2006 before being traded to Los Angeles for Lubomir Visnovsky?

Was it Jonathan Quick who was super quick for the Kings in the playoffs in winning the Conn Smythe Trophy?

Was it Dustin Brown, the team’s captain, who has overcome a minor speech impediment to become one of the most dependable captains in the National Hockey League?

Was it Goaltender Coach Bill Ranford (my Grandma’s favourite) who was stellar for the Edmonton Oilers in winning the Conn Smythe Trophy in 1990?

Was it Anze Kopitar, who is the first Slovenian to win the Stanley Cup?

Was it Jeff Carter, who went from worst to first by being traded from Columbus at the deadline?

Was  it Jordan Nolan, whose father Ted suffered a ridiculous firing in Buffalo soon after winning the Jack Adams Trophy and except for a short stint with the New York Islanders wasn’t given a legitimate shot of coaching in the NHL again?

Was it Justin Williams, who has experienced his share of injuries and has overcome tremendous persistence and hard work off the ice to get back into playing shape year after year?

Was it Willie Mitchell, who the Vancouver Canucks obviously let go too soon?

But the major reason why the Los Angeles Kings won the Stanley Cup and became the first eighth seed in NHL history to do so was they won as a team–something all teams in all sports can learn from.
