Why isn’t Wideman an Oiler?

Am I missing something here?

Don’t the Edmonton Oilers need a playmaking defenceman that can play huge quality minutes on the blueline?

Wouldn’t a player that has previously been a +32 in a season and registered 50 points be a perfect fit?

Wouldn’t the Oilers have been better off with Tom Renney and Dennis Wideman than Ralph Krueger and no Dennis Wideman?

Why, only three days before free agent frenzy day, is Tambellini more focused on having a press conference for the announcement of a new head coach than he is of acquiring players that can actually make a difference?

Why did Tambellini take the time out of his schedule to have a photo-op with Krueger when he should have been busy on the phone?

And my last question is why was Tambellini smiling when at the end of the day it was a better day for the Oilers’ rival the Calgary Flames?

The Oilers need a defenceman, not one but two,  and it was the Flames got what the Oilers needed on Thursday!
