The Edmonton Eskimos and Calgary Stampeders drafted University of Calgary Dinos’ wide receivers in the first round of the CFL Draft.

The Stampeders selected wide receiver Anthony Parker with their first round pick, number three overall. While the Eskimos selected wide receiver Nathan Coehoorn with their first round pick, number five overall.

Coehoorn was the second player selected by the Eskimos, as they originally drafted Scott Mitchell, an offensive lineman from Rice University, number two overall. Mitchell was the top ranked player by the Canadian Football League Scouting Bureau, but was passed over by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, who drafted linebacker Henoc Muamba from St. Francis Xavier University number one overall.

Cavaliers shock the Heat

JJ Hickson (Keith Allison, Wikimedia Commons)

In the NBA upset of the year, the Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Miami Heat 102-90.

Yes folks, the same Miami Heat with LeBron James (former Cavalier), Chris Bosh (former Raptor) and Dwyane Wade.

You don’t have to be a basketball fan to love the result in this one!

Cleveland at 15-58 knocked off Miami at 51-23. Boomshockalockalocka!

I would just like to know if there will be a one hour documentary now produced by LeBron James himself on why the Heat were so brutal tonight? If he is interested in the anysportanytime staff in writing the script, I would be more than happy to.

Congrats to J.J. Hickson (21 points, 12 rebounds), Anthony Parker (20 points), Ryan Hollins (13 points), Baron Davis (10 points, 7 assists) and Ramon Sessions (11 points, 6 rebounds) for winning their biggest game of the year!

Weekend Sports Preview–November 19-21

Henry Burris

This weekend we’ll find out the answer to major question on many Canadian sports’ fans minds.

Who will play in the 98th Grey Cup next Sunday in Edmonton?

The Montreal Alouettes and the Toronto Argonauts will battle in the Eastern Final at Montreal’s Olympic Stadium (Sunday, 11am, TSN), and the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Calgary Stampeders will duel at McMahon Stadium in Calgary for the Western Final (Sunday, 2:30pm. TSN).

In the East, the Alouettes are disappointed they only had three players selected to the CFL All-Star Team– guard Scott Flory, linebacker Chip Cox and defensive end John Bowman.

It will be interesting to see how Montreal rebounds after losing 30-4 to Toronto in the final week of the regular season. I know Anthony Calvillo, Ben Cahoon, Kerry Watkins, S.J. Green, Jamel Richardson and Avon Cobourne were not in the lineup, but it will be interesting to see how the Alouettes respond after their major offensive core haven’t played since October 29.
