Happy Tuesday!

This week on 15 Minutes of Fame we discuss the latest NHL lockout news, a rough couple of weeks on the Edmonton arena front, the KHL signing with ESPN and the potential for replacement players. As well, we take a look at a big win for the Edmonton Eskimos on the weekend, which launched them back into a playoff spot.

In the GABBYs: Miguel Cabrera, Adam Greenberg, Michael Phelps, Zinedine Zidane, Roger Federer and Michael Vick. The Punchline this week is US track celebrity Lolo Jones.

Kerrzy’s Notebook: When Sports Go Viral

Say what you will about the internet, but it really is the gift that keeps on giving when it comes to viral videos!

Don’t believe me? Fine. Be that way.

For those of you who are picking up what I’m throwing down though, I’ve got another batch of delicious internet awesomeness for you to check out. This week in “When Sports Go Viral,” we’ve got a couple of pro athletes goofing off, an interesting dangle from the KHL’s All-Star weekend and a highlight from the support staff!

Let’s start with the latest viral video from Phoenix Suns star Steve Nash – not content with playing in the NBA, Nash is apparently trying to convince ESPN to let him enter the Real Snow snowboard competition.

This week on 15 Minutes of Fame we welcome back the NHL with a series of predictions for the upcoming season (top teams, biggest surprises and more!), plus we take a look at how the Edmonton Oilers look (very) early on, and we analyze the NY Rangers decision to waive Sean Avery.

Kerrzy’s Notebook: Canseco Conspiracy?

As the Barry Bonds perjury trial gets into its second week, it’s another former baseball player with links to steroids that has people talking…

Yes, the internet is abuzz today with the latest Jose Canseco controversy: The “Juiced” author is in a bit of a dispute with a (shady) celebrity boxing promoter after he apparently didn’t show up for a fight on Saturday. If ESPN is to be believed (we’ll get to that in a minute), not only did Canseco not show up, he sent his twin brother Ozzie in his place!

Jose was supposed to fight at a Hard Rock Café in a place called Hollywood, Florida, but promoter Damon Feldman says it all fell apart when the wrong brother walked through the door. There are conflicting reports, but ESPN says some of the fans in attendance started to pipe up when they noticed Canseco’s tattoos weren’t right.
