Kerrzy’s Notebook: Canseco Conspiracy?

As the Barry Bonds perjury trial gets into its second week, it’s another former baseball player with links to steroids that has people talking…

Yes, the internet is abuzz today with the latest Jose Canseco controversy: The “Juiced” author is in a bit of a dispute with a (shady) celebrity boxing promoter after he apparently didn’t show up for a fight on Saturday. If ESPN is to be believed (we’ll get to that in a minute), not only did Canseco not show up, he sent his twin brother Ozzie in his place!

Jose was supposed to fight at a Hard Rock Café in a place called Hollywood, Florida, but promoter Damon Feldman says it all fell apart when the wrong brother walked through the door. There are conflicting reports, but ESPN says some of the fans in attendance started to pipe up when they noticed Canseco’s tattoos weren’t right.

Kane You Dig It?

It’s been quite an exciting few days for Patrick Kane.

Last Friday, he received a compliment from the President of the United States and on Monday he became the third youngest Chicago Blackhawk to score 100 career goals in a rout of the SJ Sharks at the United Center!

Let’s start with that trip to the White House: As the defending Stanley Cup champions, the Hawks were invited to meet the president on Friday in Washington. Barack Obama, a Chicago native, seemed pretty happy to have some Illinois flavor in DC and cracked some jokes about how it usually takes teams from Chicago a while to win a title (think: Chicago Cubs and their 104-year drought).
