For the first time since 2004, Sweden has won the World Men’s Curling Championship. On Sunday night in Victoria, British Columbia, Niklas Edin defeated Sault Ste. Marie’s Brad Jacobs 8-6.
This was the first time since 2009 that Canada failed to win the World Championship gold medal.
The Swedes came out firing as they grabbed a quick 4-1 lead on Canada after three ends and basically went on cruise control thereafter.
