Evans led the National Lacrosse League this season with 80 assists and 112 points as the Roughnecks won the Western Division with a record of nine wins and seven losses.
Evans was also named to the 2012 National Lacrosse League all-pro first team at the forward position. Evans beat out Rhys Duch of the Washington Stealth and Garrett Billings of the Toronto Rock to win the award.
Evans becomes the second Calgary Roughneck to win the National Lacrosse League Most Valuable Player award. In 2011, transition player Jeff Shattler of Edmonton received the honour.
