I think it is now important to officially call Winnipeg’s hockey franchise the Winnipeg NHLers until they stop this nonsense and pick a name!
Any name! C’mon. Let’s go.
Winnipegers are obviously excited. They’re getting professional hockey of the National Hockey League variety, and on Wednesday the Winnipeg NHLers named their general manager.
Kevin Cheveldayoff, previously the assistant general manager of the Chicago Blackhawks, was named general manager today, replacing Rick Dudley, who was fired when the team moved from Atlanta.
Cheveldayoff spent the last two years in Chicago, learning the general managerial ropes from Stan Bowman, who is the son of hockey legend Scotty Bowman.
