According to the Associated Press, the Badminton World Federation is implementing a controversial clothing rule for female players effective immediately. Women’s badminton players are now to wear skirts on tour for all of their matches.
The rule will come into effect June 1st and will require every female badminton player to comply with the “aesthetic and stylish presentation” on the court.
Women are allowed to wear shorts, tights or tracksuit bottoms beneath the skirt if they choose.
The rule will apply for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London.

There is already trouble brewing in Russia ahead of the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi!
